Jack Mercer passed away on December 20, 2017 after a courageous 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jack was born to James William Mercer and Phyllis Todd Mercer on July 15, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma. His father was career Air Force and they lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Bermuda and Missouri before moving to Denison in 1963. Jack was a 1968 graduate of Denison High School. He married Woodye Gilliam, the love of his life on February 26, 1977 at Virginia Point Methodist Church. They celebrated 40 years of marriage this year with a trip to San Diego and Maui.

He was an Electronic Technician at Texas Instruments for 32 years working at the Sherman location and Dallas location.

Jack was the kind of person that could repair almost anything and loved figuring out how something worked. In his leisure time he enjoyed time at the family cabin on Lake Texoma, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bells, and the Texoma Emmaus Community. For many years he was an assistant scout master of Bells Boy Scout Troop 41.
